Welcome to Gleekie.com! This new fan blog, made by a Gleek for Gleeks, is dedicated to the hit FOX show, Glee. Be sure to check out Glee songs, videos, photos and more. Below you will find the latest cast gossip, show news and other interesting things Gleeks will love!
With Halloween right around the corner, Glee is doing an episode dedicated to the Rocky Horror Show! First of all, how ridiculous does Kurt look. Besides that, the episode looks promising and will hopefully satisfy those that actually remember the musical/movie.
Quick Background: The Rocky Horror Show is a British musical that made its debut in 1973 (and is still running today!). It quickly became popular and soon adapted into a film in 1975 (The Rocky Horror Picture Show). The comedy B-rated horror show was praised for its creative way incorporating audience interaction within the musical.
No one is sure yet whether the Glee’s tribute to it will be just that, a tribute, or an actual retelling of the story. However, if they are retelling the story they’re going to need more than the 40ish minutes they have of air time.
I’m classifying this as a rant because I haven’t been able to keep up with this blog and be true to my gleekiness. I blame work and the bills that are starting to rack up. And don’t ask me if I’ve been watching the Season 2 episodes – cause that’s a crazy question that no Gleek should ever be asked.
I wanted to start this blog back up, as we prepare for the awesome Rocky Horror Halloween episode coming up this Tuesday. I eventually want to offer a lot more media, updates and content for any Gleeks that happen to pass by here.
So stay tuned and be sure to follow on Twitter (@tooGleekie).
Charice is 18 and she can already say she’s had botox. In order to prepare for her debut in Glee, it’s reported that she had the procedure done “to look fresh on camera.” She also said, “All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry? So of course there is tremendous pressure.”
No Charice. No one is anticipating how you’ll look, we’re all anticipating how you’ll sing.
Did Charice get in the industry too soon? Is she already trying to fit in the empty yet pretty Hollywood shell? If Glee has taught us anything, you succeed regardless of your looks, weight and social status.
Song’s from the last episode of Glee Season 1. Two amazing singers. One awesome song.
Matthew said: “It was one of the highlights of my trip. We met on the Monday and did a show together on the Thursday….. We only rehearsed three times but it turned out great. Performing in front of a live audience of 18,000 is like oxygen to me.”
People that submitted their auditions to Glee Audition Profile on Myspace had an array of angry and sad emotions when Ryan Murphy announced the cancellation of the Glee casting reality show. Ryan Murphy wanted to focus on 2nd season of Glee and felt that the reality show will take away the attention of his cast and staff.
Well, we’ve got good news! Oxygen has earned the rights to Glee reruns AND the reality show! Deadline.com reported that Oxygen will begin airing the casting show starting June 2011. I’m really happy to hear the news after reading a bunch of hateful messages throughout the web from all those that participated in the audition with high hopes.
I’m still rooting for Sam Tsui, as he is an incredible singer and I think he has the personality to be on Glee. I hope he makes it to the reality show!
Daniel Radcliffe, probably better known as Harry Potter, said that he would love to have a role in Glee.
Wait a minute.. Harry Potter? Glee?
Literally coming out of nowhere, he told Access Hollywood, “Yes, absolutely (I want a role in Glee)… Of course… it’s an amazing show and I (would) obviously be honored to be asked. But, I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet. They’ve got standards like (Glee star) Kristin Chenoweth.”
He’s been taking dance and vocal lessons preparing for a Broadway production next year called “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” He’s obviously humble enough to point out that he may not be at the level of other Glee cast members, but he has to be confident in himself to want to be on Glee! The video below is Daniel Radcliffe singing in a skit for BCEFA’s 20th Annual Gypsy of the Year Competition.
That was back in 2008 and it didn’t impress me despite the crappy audio/video quality. Can two years really make a difference in someone’s voice? Having Harry Potter, I mean.. Daniel Radcliffe on Glee will definitely make Season 2 an enormous hit with TONS of viewers.
People Magazine reports Miley Cyrus does not like Glee. She thinks it’s unrealistic and she just can’t “enjoy musicals.” Maybe she took offense to Rachel trying to sing “The Climb” with a broken voice? Her remarks are contrary to the high praises Glee received from icons like Madonna and Lady GaGa. Here’s what she had to say about Glee:
“What if this was real life and I was just walking down the street on Rodeo Drive,” she said, “and all of a sudden I just burst into song about how much I love shoes?”
Rant on.
Well Miley, how likely is it in “real life” for a teenage girl put on a wig and somehow magically be disguised as an international superstar? Are you just jealous that Lea, Amber and everyone on the cast is a better singer than you?
What’s funny is that she also said she hates country and pop music. What?! Miley, you make millions off of your “pop music.” It’s so blatant your latest single is trying to sound like Britney Spears. And wtf is “Party in the USA” about then? If that’s not pop, you need your ears checked. Also, if your daddy wasn’t so successful in “country music,” no one would know who the hell you are.
The Glee Season 1 finale, ‘Journey,’ pulled in a surprising (almost) 11 million viewers! This is in spite of the NBA Finals Game 3 playing on ABC and without a lead-in from ‘American Idols’. FOX said this was the most watched Glee episode without ‘American Idols’ airing prior. It’s also not surprising that the viewers composed mainly of 18-49 adults, teens and the female demographics. Although, I’m a guy and proud to be a Gleek.
Since Season 1 ended on such a high note (I’m reading nothing but fantastic reviews), let’s hope for a bigger, better and badder Season 2!
There’s already talk about who will be joining the Glee cast, who’s going to be guest starring and which roles they’ll be playing in Season 2. Read on if you want to find out!
In just a few hours, the last Glee episode of Season 1 will air but it won’t be long until Season 2 comes around in September(!). It will be interesting to see how many viewers the finale will pull. Will it break 10 million viewers after the disappointing 8.99 million views from the previous episode, ‘Funk’?
Anyhow, Glee fans are already preparing for the Glee-less summer with prizes, videos and contests to keep the spark fiery and live. Fans are also speculating who will join the Glee cast in Season 2 (John Stamos? *cough*).
